Holidays upon us?

This Monday will be Memorial Day. Originally called Decoration day, it was officially proclaimed on May 5, 1868 and observed on May 30, 1868. This day is one of remembrance for those who have died while in our nation's service.

If only for a moment, to bow your head,
And fondly remember the heroic dead.
Those who fought hard and true,
Giving freedom to me and you.

Remember those you once knew well,
And for those you don't, toll the bell.
Give your heartfelt thanks for all they've done,
They've given their lives and now they're gone.

On foreign soil and here at home,
So that our nation could remain as one,
These brave souls who answered the call
And by giving their lives, have given it all.

To all the Men and Women of the Armed Forces,
I give my heartfelt thanks for giving my my freedom while giving up yours.

Much Luvz, Witchie!
